Intensive A – SCD MODERN SAMPLER: 

June 6th – June 12th

Sarasota Contemporary Dance is EXCITED to bring back their SCD sampler classes, Intensive A will focus on a variety of Modern classes.  Intensive participants will be able to experience and learn from 5 different Sarasota Contemporary Dance company members, all with varying backgrounds and embodied practices. Participants will experience influences from Horton, Limon, Release Technique, to Postmodern. This class is a great way for participants to immerse themselves into SCD by getting to know the company members and receiving their professional training!

Ages: High School Students through Professionals (minimum age 14)

Intensive B – SCD JAZZ SAMPLER: 

July 11th-17th

Sarasota Contemporary Dance is EXCITED to bring back their SCD sampler classes, Intensive B will focus on a variety of Jazz classes.  Intensive participants will be able to experience and learn from 5 different Sarasota Contemporary Dance company members, all with varying backgrounds and embodied practices. Participants will experience influences from Fosse, Broadway, Afro-Fusion, to Commercial Jazz.  This class is a great way for participants to immerse themselves into SCD by getting to know the company members and receiving their professional training!

Ages: High School Students through Professionals (minimum age 14)

Intensive C – SCD Fusion SAMPLER: 

July 18th-24th

Sarasota Contemporary Dance is EXCITED to bring back their SCD sampler classes, Intensive C will focus on a variety of Fusion classes. Intensive participants will be able to experience and learn from 5 different Sarasota Contemporary Dance company members, all with varying backgrounds and embodied practices. Participants will experience a variety of styles including, African, Jazz, Contemporary Floorwork, and Improvisation.  This class is a great way for participants to immerse themselves into SCD by getting to know the company members and receiving their professional training!

Ages: High School Students through Professionals (minimum age 14)

Rising Choreographer Program

Age Requirement – 18 & up

(only 3 choreorgaphers per intensive)

This unique and exciting program allows rising choreographers to set and present their work on summer intensive participants. Works will be performed at the end of the week showcase titled “In the Round”.

SCD Rising Choreographer applications are due by April 1st. 

($30 application fee must be PAID for applicants to be considered!)

$ 250 Rising Choreographer Program fee (this is paid once chosen as a Rising Choreographer)
