A performance work of thresholds, BEAR is built on the question of what one can bear; what we bear collectively. BEAR is an exploration of the revocation of the ideal – we do not strive in pursuit of unattainable perfection.  We work to better lay ourselves bare.

BEAR is about the rigor of upholding, the fragility of being held; the humor of failing. What do we have to do to stay afloat? What do we have to let go of? We want to test our capacity to understand, witness, and perhaps share what is borne by others near to us. Can we ally ourselves with this burden, this joy? Are we capable of what that requires? In a time when we are often asked to leverage advantage against one another in a zero-sum game of societal competition, we seek to create work that strips the extraneous through effort, shares fully through exhaustion, and asks for support in the places that our shared humanities align.
